Ronnie King (bassist, guitarist,
singer, songwriter, TV producer, writer and humourist) is the most outgoing,
communicative member of the Stampeders. Easy going and happy-go-lucky, he
was the biggest salesman for the Stampeders stage presence, mystique and
persona.
He felt extremely comfortable basking in the limelight selling this product through radio, TV, newspapers, music magazines promotions, or livelier performances. Ronnie could be counted on to make any event an exciting good time. Ronnie wrote communicative songs such as Almost Home, Carryin On, Then Came the White Man and Sweet Love Bandit. The theme song of his own television show Playing in the Band was also the last top- twenty hit the Stampeders had in 1977. Aside from song writing, recording, and performing live, Ronnie intends to continue to be involved with his TV show plans which lean towards featuring original nostalgic acts, reunited and featured as they are today. |
